Children will use a stationary tee to hit a modified ball to introduce them to the game of baseball and softball. This program focuses on skills and fundamentals and is a non-competitive fun activity for Boys and Girls in Grades 1 & 2.

Program Days & Times:  Wednesdays 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. & Saturdays 9:00 - 9:45 a.m.
Dates:  April 18 - May 23
Location: Spaulding School Playground
Fee: $30.00
Registration closes on Monday, March 19 and/or earlier if enrollment reaches maximum capacity.
Limited enrollment.
Discount: $25.00 for second child or more.  Sibling Discount does not apply after March 19.
Late Fee: $40.00 effective March 20.

Volunteer parent coaches are needed for this program!  Please sign up to coach at time of registration.  
Volunteer Coaches Meeting on: Monday, March 26, 5:45 p.m. - Town Hall Meeting Room Lower Level.

Groups are formed randomly.

General Information
  • INSTRUCTOR: Volunteer Parent Coaches
  • This developmental program focuses on skills and fundamentals of Tee Ball while having fun.
  • Fee includes: T-shirt, equipment and field maintenance.
  • Please bring your own glove.
  • Registration closes on Monday, March 19 and/or earlier if enrollment reaches maximum capacity.
  • Limited enrollment.
  • The registration close date is established so that we can properly be prepared for the program with group size, coaches and equipment. We appreciate your advanced cooperation. All registrations submitted after March 19 will be charged a late fee, and may not be guaranteed placement in a group. There will be no sibling discount after March 19.
  • RAIN: Call the Parks and Recreation Department at 860-668-3862 (press 2) after 4:00 p.m. for a cancellation decision. If it begins to rain after 4:30, the Coach of the program should be called regarding the cancellation of the program on that night. If it begins to rain, lightning or thunder during the program, play should be stopped, call parents for immediate pick up.
  • SATURDAY PROGRAMS: A decision to cancel will be made by 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday and a recorded message will be left on the voice mail at The Parks and Recreation Office. *Call: 860-668-3862, press “2” for cancellation information.
  • No unregistered person may attend a program. No on-site registrations are allowed.
  • The program schedule and content is set forth by the Parks & Recreation Department and is not to be changed.
  • You will not receive any reminders about the program. Be at the program at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18.
  • For your child’s safety and the safety of others, the following jewelry is not permitted to be worn: earrings, rings, bracelets, rubber and friendship type wrist bands, anklets, body piercing, watches, necklaces, metal and plastic head bands, barrettes, hair clips.
  • ITEMS ALLOWED: cloth or elastic hair bands or pony tail holders. Parents, please consider the timing of any new piercings until after the program ends.
  • For safety reasons children with casts are not allowed to participate.
